Christopher Nolan: Oppenheimer Zero single frame of CGI

Director Christopher Nolan claims that his upcoming film Oppenheimer does

not feature any CGI footage. He  made such a statement in a conversation

with the editor-in-chief of Collider.

The publication does not give the entire phrase or other replicas of the director.

He only said that there would be “zero” CGI in the film.

The quote makes it clear that the creator of "Oppenheimer" did not turn to digital

effects even for filming a nuclear bomb test. In an interview with Total Film in

December 2022, Nolan said that filming the Trinity test sequence—the first man-

made nuclear explosion in history in the New Mexico desert in 1945—was the

biggest challenge for the film crew, because they decided to recreate his image

only in practical ways.

The director is known for his desire to do without the use of graphics

For example, in his latest film Tenet (2020), he crashed a real airplane.

And for the segment with Matthew McConaughey inside the tesseract in

Interstellar, special sets were built.

Irish actor Cillian Murphy will play the lead role in the ambitious biopic about the
American physicist J. Robert OppenheimerOppenheimer is known as the father
of the atomic bomb.

Oppenheimer also stars Matt Damon as Lieutenant General Leslie Richard Groves

Jr., Emily Blunt as Katherine Oppenheimer, Robert Downey Jr. as Lewis Strauss,

Florence Pugh as psychiatrist Jean Tetlock, Benny Safdie as theoretical physicist

Edward Teller, Michael Angarano as Robert Serber, and Josh Hartnett as the

pioneering American nuclear scientist Ernest Lawrence.
